Hello Washington Middle School Families,

I am pleased to welcome Ms. Trisha Pilapil as our new Assistant Principal. Ms. Pilapil joins us from Cleveland High School and has a rich history in Seattle Public Schools. Her experience working in diverse schools is a huge asset for WMS and we are so excited to welcome our new Jr. Husky. Please see below to hear from her yourself!

Principal at WMS

Hello Washington Middle School community,

My name is Trisha Pilapil. I have been a proud educator for Seattle Public Schools for eight years in our South Seattle community. I am super excited to be your Assistant Principal. I am a University of Washington Alumni, so I am proud to continue to represent our husky mascot at Washington Middle School.

I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California, and moved to South Seattle as a teenager. I appreciate the diversity of our neighborhood, which reminds me of my original home back in LA. My personal life experiences have taught me to lead by sharing leadership. I believe our community must work together, especially with our students, and embrace our similarities and differences to achieve our shared goal to ensure students reach academic and personal success and excellence. We will work together to achieve an equitable education for our children because equitable education is a human right.

In addition to working with students, I enjoy spending time with my daughter who is a proud Viking at Rainier Beach High school, my fur babies (Cali, the pitbull and Manila, the chihuahua), and loved ones. I also love dancing. I especially love choreographing dances for children in hip-hop, ballet, jazz, and lyrical and seeing students shine by expressing their artistic side!

Please contact me with any questions or concerns. I am happy to get to know each of you!

Love and respect,

Trisha Pilapil
