Washington Middle School Title I Parent Compact

We believe that it is important that families and schools work together to support scholars achieve high academic standards. A compact is a written agreement that outlines how scholars, parents, and teachers will share in the responsibility of improving scholar achievement. The following are agreed upon responsibilities that we, as partners, will carry out to support scholar success in school.

Scholar Pledge:

  • Hardworking – We will try our best on all assignments, activities, and discussions.
  • On Time and On Task – We will go to class on time and manage our time appropriately for other needs.
  • Watching Words and Actions – We will use respectful language and safe bodies to all students and staff.
  • Leadership- We will advocate for ourselves by monitoring our progress (i.e., The Source) and each other to ensure we have positive learning environment.

Family Pledge:

  • Hardworking – We will have our scholar come prepared with the materials needed for success.
  • On Time and On Task – We will support our student attending school regularly and on time.
  • Watching Words and Actions – We will engage in conversations with our scholar about respecting differences, conflict resolution, and safe social media use.
  • Leadership – We will regularly check The Source (PowerSchools) for student grades, attendance, and other information.

Staff Pledge:

  • Hardworking – We will engage in professional practices to create rigorous and inclusive classrooms.
  • On Time and On Task – We will update student progress regularly (biweekly).
  • Watching Words and Actions – We will use student voice and data to guide classroom learning and climate/safety.
  • Leadership – We will initiate and participate in conversations with families
