Washington MS Leadership Announcement

Dear Washington families and staff,

I am pleased to announce Adrian Manriquez has been selected as the principal of Washington Middle School beginning July 1.

Principal Manriquez was selected through a rigorous formal interview process that included staff, parent, and community participation.

Principal Manriquez has been with Seattle Public Schools for over 10 years. He started as a language arts teacher at Madrona and Meany Middle School then moved to Washington Middle School as house administrator and assistant principal.

His focus on fostering a positive, student-centered learning environment has included implementation of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports and coordinating student-led events. He participates the professional practice to examine, refine and improve teaching practices to support student learning. Principal Manriquez exemplifies Seattle Excellence.
