Student Groups & Partnerships
Student groups are offered by Washington Middle School and our partners!
Seattle Parks and Recreation Community Learning Center
Huskies Out of School Time (HOST): Fall-Winter and Spring
HOST offers a wide variety of after school programs for all Washington Middle School students.
Each month a group of students will join with a pair of Seattle University mentors and they will have a lunchtime “club.”
Parks Academy of Learning Summer Program (PALS): Summer PALS offers summer learning opportunities for Washington Middle School students.
The Seattle Parks and Recreation Community Learning Center at Washington Middle School aims to bridge the gap between communities and school, by creating programs that are culturally relevant and reflective of the community we serve.
For more information about these programs, Learn more about Community Learning Programs or contact Robert Chandler rachandler@seattleschools.org or 206-849-9203.

The Redhawk Academic Mentoring Program (R.A.M.P.)
The Redhawk Academic Mentoring Program (RAMP) aims to be a safe place for students to find support from others to build, grow, and strengthen skills and relationships. We support academic achievement and social-emotional well-being.
We envision scholars and families fully, intentionally, and authentically engaged in the learning process and decision-making as it relates to their journeys.
We value justice, relationships, inclusion, respect, and holism. We seek to engage Washington Middle School scholars and families in such a way that allows them to see themselves as vital parts of the school and larger community, allowing scholars to feel ownership of their education which will lead to increased academic performance.
Seattle University offers 1 on 1 mentoring between a Seattle U student and Washington Middle School scholar. During an elective class, mentors meet once a week with their scholar to work on academics and create connections with the mentor.
Any questions can be shared with Kendall Johansen at kjohansen1@seattleu.edu or LaKesha Kimbrough at kimbroughlak@seattleu.edu.
