Join us for our Annual Washington Middle School Science Fair representing scientific research you have completed, as A YEAR LONG PROJECT!

Five projects will be selected by a panel of independent judges for each grade level, to represent Washington M.S. at the District event, held at the Museum of Flight on June 7th.

Bring your parent or guardian to WMS for fun and food.  A guest appearance by the Jr. Husky Jazz Band will also be happening!  Students admitted with parent or guardian only...

--Mr. Vigil

8th Graders!
Do you want the chance to move up a grade level in math for 9th grade?  Do you want to build your math skills with college tutors?  Do you want to learn how to succeed in high school?  Do you want to earn some money for earning good grades?  Are you a student that is assigned to Cleveland, Rainier Beach, Sealth, Franklin or Garfield?  If you answered yes to any or all of these questions, then team up with MESA.  MESA stands for Math, Engineering and Science Achievement.  There are two MESA programs that you can get involved in that will help prepare you for high school and beyond.  If you're interested, see Mr. Goldstein for an application.

The next ICO Outing is Here
Come ride a bike in Saint Edward State Park.  Only 10 students cn go.  Pick up a permission slip at the front office or from Mr. Berger in Portable 5.  As always, trips are free and all food and snacks are provided.--Mr. Berger

Yearbooks!
Your last chance to pre-order a 2012 Yearbook will be May 18th.  Bring $22 in cash, or a check made out to WMS, to Ms. Penner during your lunch to process your order.  A pre-order will guarantee you one at the end of the year and provide you first opportunity to receive one.  Once quantities are sold out there will be no more available to purchase.--Ms. Penner

Saturday School
We have Academic Saturday School on Saturday, May 12, from 9-12 in the LRC; all students are welcome.  You can find applications in the main office, the counseling office and outside of Mrs. Jones's office.  Please come prepared with all your supplies, homework, planner, text books and assignments.  The latest you will be admitted is 9:30, so plan on arriving on time at 9 AM.--Tolson and Jones
On Wednesday, May 9th, 8th graders should go to their 1st period classes for attendance purposes--then a public announcement will be made directing them to go to their assigned rooms to meet their counselor.
