11/10 Weekly Bulletin

Good afternoon, caregivers!

This weekend, we say thank you to all our veterans who have served to keep us all safe. At Washington, we are grateful for Mr. Ritchie (8th Grade Humanities and Drama Teacher) who served in the Navy.

We also want to say thank all of you who came out to learn about adolescent suicide prevention at PTSA’s first in-person event. If you are still interested in learning more about PTSA, you can join for free! Find out more at

November 2022 School Newsletter

Have you seen our new school newsletter? You can see it here:

Arena-Style Conferences will be November 21st (Monday) from 5 PM to 7:30 PM. All families are able to visit for the drop-in. Throughout the cafeteria (Math, Science, Humanities) and the library (electives), families can find their students’ teachers and get a quick picture of what their student is like in classes. Please note that these conferences will be about 10 minutes in length per teacher. You are welcome to speak to every teacher of your student or just a couple. There will also be resources available from counselors, the library, after school programs, and PTSA. Some questions you may want to ask:

  • What is my child doing well? What could they work on?
  • Is my child above grade-level, on track, or in need of support?
  • How can I help with their learning at home?

Additional conferences for specific families will be hosted on Tuesday evening (November 22nd). These caregivers will receive a call or text to schedule their conference.

SPS has COVID bivalent booster vaccine clinics for ages 5-11, 12+ this weekend. All children and adults are welcome to Washington Middle School (Nov 12) and South Shore K-8 (Nov 13). Both are from 9 am-1 pm. Register here

6th Graders will be going to work at St. Mary’s Food Bank as they learn about food justice and ways that communities can come together help those who are food insecure.
