WMS Orchestra Will Continue in 2019-2020, Advanced Choir Performs Sunday
    Posted on 03/29/2019
    Good morning, Washington Families,

Mr. Murphy, Ms. Moritz, and I have truly valued the listening sessions. One of several items that came through very clearly is that while our school and resources are shrinking, families still value and want orchestra to remain a part of our music programming. After several conversations about how to sustain our amazing music program and pathway with Garfield Principal, Ted Howard, he has graciously offered Garfield’s Orchestra Director, Bryan Kolk, to join us at Washington in the afternoons to teach our orchestra classes next school year. If you would like more information on Mr. Kolk, you may read more about him here: https://garfieldorchestra.org/about-us/about-our-conductor/. We are extremely grateful to Mr. Howard for his leadership and partnership to keep the wonderful music programs at Garfield and Washington alive and excellent.

I also want to share that our Advanced Choir is performing on Sunday, March 31st at 2pm at McCaw Hall in partnership with the Seattle Choruses. The Seattle Choruses are offering the Washington Middle School community up to 4 FREE tickets per family to hear the Seattle Men’s Chorus’ performance of “Believe: The Music of Cher,” featuring the Washington Middle School Choir. Have a great rest of your day!
