All students are scheduled into the next math course in the sequence. Some students may be eligible to appeal their course enrollment via testing. Student eligibility for appeal can be found in our
math enrollment policy. If the student meets certain performance criteria on the standards-based assessments, the student may have the option of taking a higher-level math course than the one in which they were originally enrolled. The following is a breakdown of what students would be scheduled into based on their current math course and whether or not they may appeal that enrollment:

This year, testing will be done before the 2018-2019 school year ends. There will not be testing in the summer or the fall. No exceptions. WMS staff will go to our primary elementary feeder schools to test ALL eligible students at those schools. Our test dates for our primary feeder schools are as follows:
Thurgood Marshall: June 17th
Bailey Gatzert: June 20th
John Muir: June 21st
Students who meet this criteria who do not go to these schools may have the opportunity to test on Monday, June 24th at 8am, 2pm, or 5pm. Testing takes no more than two hours. We will provide documentation at completion of the test to present to your current school to excuse any absence if a student tests at 8am or 2pm. If your child attends Thurgood Marshall, Bailey Gatzert, or John Muir, they must test at their school on the designated date. If they are absent, they may test at WMS on the 24th only with proof of absence from their school on the school’s scheduled test date. You must register your child for the assessment on June 24th. You may do so by completing the form here
