Student Activities
We at Washington M.S. believe that participation in student-oriented activities is a vital part of a student’s education. Therefore, a wide range of activities is provided, which include the following:
Huskies Out of School Time (H.O.S.T.)
HOST Coordinator - Danny Cage
The WMS after-school program, officially called H.O.S.T. (“Huskies Out of School Time”) is managed by the YMCA staff here, specifically by Mr. Danny Cage, the Youth Development Director. There is a session each semester. Typically, application forms are printed out in October and late January.
There’s a wide range of activities, sports, arts, academics, and groups, and transportation home is provided for students who qualify. When the program is ready to accept applicants, the forms are put in the Counseling Office (134) and the Main Office as well. Announcements are made in the Daily Bulletin, too.
Specific questions about HOST, including start and end dates, activity descriptions, and transportation info can be sent via email to Mr. Cage or phoned in to him directly at (206) 252-2585.
