    Typing Agent

    Typing Agent, an optional web-based keyboarding program, is now available for all 1st - 12th grade students and teachers in Seattle Public Schools.

    SPS students are automatically enrolled in Typing Agent using accounts which were created centrally at the district level. Shortcuts to the Typing Agent web-based program have been placed on the teacher and student desktops of all computers in the elementary, middle and high schools. Students may also access this application from home using the following URL with Firefox:

    STUDENT Instructions for Logging in to Typing Agent:

    Username: first initial, middle initial, and last name (e.g. abtran)
    Password: seattle

    Note: Middle and High School students will be asked to change their password on first login.

    Here are the targets to help your student succeed:

    • 6th Grade = 25 wpm w/80% accuracy (Working Towards MS Standard)
    • 7th Grade = 30 wpm w/85% accuracy (Meets MS Standard)
    • 8th Grade = 35 wpm w/90% accuracy (Exceeds MS Standards)

    Range of “Keyboarding Proficiency” in the adult work world: 35 wpm – 85 wpm. Most common standard for job descriptions is 60 wpm.

    Typing Agent has many fun games to assist in learning so please have your student spend time reaching the above level of mastery.
